The Top End Gem and Mineral Club celebrated their 50th anniversary earlier this month. The club was formed in 1967 and used to meet in a classroom of the old Darwin Primary School in Woods Street. A while later the club disbanded for a short period of time however was reformed in 1976, after Cyclone Tracey. The club moved meeting places several times over the years and finally settled into Knuckeys Lagoon Recreation Reserve facilities some 17 years ago. The club enjoys a solid membership base but is always looking for new members. If you have an interest in the wonder and beauty of rocks, want to learn, improve or share lapidary skills or just want to head out with like-minded people to fossick then TEGMC is for you.

The club meets every Tuesday morning from 9am – 12pm and Wednesday evenings from 5pm – 8pm at the Knuckey Lagoons Recreation Reserve, 3326 Brandt Rd
