The Department of Mines and Energy has committed to undertaking remediation work on open shafts within Fossicking Area 4 (FA4).

The planned works will consist of the rehabilitation of four existing collapsed shafts within the Fossicking Area, as well as the installation of a new fossicking sign at the boundary of FA4, along Warrego Road.

It is anticipated that this work will be completed over the next month and it will greatly improve the safety of visitors to this area.
